Fil-Am lobster Soup
This is a sweet and spicy lobster flavored vegetable soup. The lobster flavor is created with a combination of Better Than Bouillon paste and imitation lobster/crab. Of course you can use the real thing if you choose to.
Ingredients:
4 cups water
½ tsp Better Than Bouillon Lobster paste
3 Tbsp soy sauce
1 Tbsp sweet soy sauce
½ tsp fish sauce
¼ cup sugar
½ tsp granulated garlic powder
½ tsp granulated onion powder
½ tsp Ajinomoto (optional)
½ cup Imitation lobster or crab for each serving
2 cups Cabbage *(don’t toss the core away)
2 cups Bok choy
½ cup Onions
½ cup Carrots
½ cup Broccoli
½ cup Mushrooms for each serving
½ cup Broccoli florets for each serving
Directions:
1. Prepare two 2 cup soup bowls by adding mushrooms in each,
then broccoli and lastly imitation lobster/crab.
2. Pour water in a pot and add lobster paste, add heat,
then seasonings in order – sugar, garlic powder, onion powder,
soy sauce, sweet soy sauce, fish sauce, Ajinomoto(optional)
and stir until incorporated.
3. Once boiling, add the rest of vegetables in order one at a time
allowing soup to come to a boil a few times to enhance flavor –
order is carrots, onions, cabbage, bok choy.
4. Pour or ladle mixture in bowls over mushrooms, broccoli and kale.
5. Serve with a smile.
*Trim dried “bark” off exposed end of core. Slice core into thin slices and put them in soup when you start to heat the water.
