This recipe is based on the one presented by Alton Brown on the Food Network's program Good Eats. Believe me, it's worth the time and effort.


-4  Shrimp/person (shell on13-15 count)
-Old Bay seasoning
-Cocktail sauce

Recipe for homemade sauce


-1 cup ketchup
-2 tbsp horseradish
-1 tsp granulated garlic
-2 tsp onion powder
-1 tbsp sweet relish
-Combine all ingredients and refrigerate.



-Preheat broiler on full

-Devein shrimp in cold water

-Brine shrimp (20-25 min) in;

   -¼ cup sugar

   -¼ cup salt

   -1 cup water

- cover pan with aluminum foil and place in broiler.

- lightly sprinkle shrimp with oil.

- place shrimp on pan and season with Old Bay Seasoning

- broil for 2 minutes on 1st side and one minute on 2nd.

-Plate and enjoy
